About

Hi, 🦧 I’m Mitch and I work as a threat detection engineer at Samsara. I help companies develop detection logic and mechanisms to identify cyber threats within enterprise and cloud environments. A while ago I worked at Schiphol Airport (2019-2022) building security data pipelines in Splunk and developing automations for threat intelligence.

Outside of work I restore vintage mechanical watches from the 60s and 70s: diagnosing, sourcing parts, and occasionally selling them on. Maybe a business someday. A few of them are at chelsys.com (Inventory may vary depending on when you look at this link. )

• I was born and raised in Romania and moved to the Netherlands in 2014 after working for 7 years in Bucharest
• I’m married and have a toddler

• monids.com - a platform for discovering newly registered domains and detecting potential phishing or domain impersonation threats.
• vitiligo.ro - started in 2006, out of my own search for a vitiligo treatment and the urge to share what I learned along the way. Twenty years later it’s still up, which makes it the longest-running thing I’ve ever maintained.
